Netflix Junkie

I crawled out of bed at seven tonight, just in time to watch a (relatively) new television program about two men who dress up like women because that’s the only way they’ll get any work.

What the hell.

Compared to Pushing Daisies: a comedy/mystery with broadway performers and gorgeous cinematography which was cancelled a couple years ago due to low ratings (or a dozen other shows).

What the hell.

Being a Netflix junkie sounds pretty good, and now I want pie.

Thoughts uncensored from the David Klein files.: Don't let em' say you aren't beautiful.

davidklein5:

The great part about meeting people from the internet is that they’ve already spilled all kinds of personal shit on their blog/website/social media etc. You feel like you already know them because they’ve talked about stuff some of the closest people to them don’t even know.

Giveaway//Wire Flower

Every Sunday I’m going to give something away, whether it’s a print, art, thrift store fun, or a project that’s cluttering up my workspace. It’s free, so why not?

This is an non-species-specific mockup wire flower. I run a small business selling bouquets of these wire silhouettes and tend to have a lot of experimental ones hanging around. The stem can be used to thread into hair, wrap around the handle of a bag, or it can be gifted to someone special as-is.

Rules:

1. Reblog as much as your blog can handle.

2. Likes will also count.

3. The winner will be selected at random through a random number generator, not myself.

4. I’ll announce the winner next Sunday, if you’re “it” then submit your name&mailing address under the “Winning all over” tab at the top of the page.

5. Will ship (for free) anywhere.

Ends Next Sunday (11.13.11)

Recipe of the Day: Homemade Hashbrowns

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium potato
  • 1 tbs butter
  • Salt and Pepper (optional)

Directions:

  1. Grate potato with a cheese grater into medium sized shreds
  2. In a medium frying pan set to high, melt 1 tbs of butter. Take a handful of grated potato and compress it into a disc-like cake; it will be about the diameter of your palm. Place this potato disc into the pan.
  3. If your pan can accommodate more, repeat step 2 once or twice (this recipe should make about three servings). Let undersides of the potatoes brown, then flip over and allow the other side to also get crispy. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  4. When done, take out of pan and enjoy!

"When she finally asked why I had come, I said I had broken up with my boyfriend over a year ago and still regretted it. She bludgeoned me with a look of such limitless compassion that I immediately began to cry. I wondered briefly if she might adopt me or hire me as her assistant or become my lesbian lover. I blew my nose, and she asked if I had ever seen the musical South Pacific.”

I should probably mention that I’m addicted to words and in love with short stories.
This book comes in eight colors so you can color coordinate your t-shirts with it. It’s charming and totally inappropriate at the same time (those are the best kinds of stories).

Recipe of the Day: Crepes

Ingredients:

    1 1/2 cups Gold Medal® all-purpose flour
    1 tablespoon granulated sugar
    1/2 teaspoon baking powder
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    2 cups milk
2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
    1/2 teaspoon vanilla
    2 eggs

Directions:
  1. In medium bowl, mix flour, granulated sugar, baking powder and salt. Stir in remaining crepe ingredients. Beat with wire whisk or hand beater until smooth.
  2. Lightly butter 6-inch skillet; heat over medium heat until bubbly. For each crepe, pour slightly less than 1/4 cup batter into skillet; immediately rotate skillet until batter covers bottom. Cook until light brown. Run wide spatula around edge to loosen; turn and cook other side until light brown. Stack crepes, placing waxed paper between each; keep covered.
  3. Fill individual crepes with whatever you like: strawberries, sour cream, nutella, jam, whatever!
